DOES the queen of England even rule over the USA Network?

When the season finale of its show Suits — Meghan Markle’s last episode on the show after seven years before leaving to marry Prince Harry — came and went with no fanfare on Wednesday, TV insiders noted the NBC-Universal-owned network kept all too quiet about the big occasion.

Ms Markle’s upcoming nuptials to the prince would have been a PR bonanza for the show, especially because her character, Rachel Zane, got married in the episode.

Yet no clear pictures of Markle in her TV wedding gown were blasted to the press and no interviews with the cast about working with her.

The move sparked TV industry speculation that Buckingham Palace may have intervened with a request for NBC discretion, to ensure the royal family’s newest member would not bring a Hollywood hangover into her new life as Duchess of Sussex.

Another NBC insider speculated they deliberately downplayed Meghan’s TV wedding in the hopes of landing interviews with her and Prince Harry once she’s a royal bride.

The insider said, “NBC execs likely decided not to embarrass Meghan with a Suits media blitz right before the royal wedding, hoping it will pay off with future access to her and Harry.”

The Palace declined to comment, while a Suits rep sniffed, “there is no truth to this.”

NBC has some royal connection.

In 2014 Page Six reported that the network was considering offering Pippa Middleton a gig as a correspondent on the Today show after she sat for an interview with Matt Lauer.

Meanwhile, Lauer also interviewed Prince William and Prince Harry the same year about their military service.
