Coronation Street star Jack P Shepherd has revealed that Shona Ramsey will be determined to get justice for David Platt when she learns the truth about his rape ordeal.


Shona is currently in the dark over the real reason her relationship with David has hit the rocks, and will be forced to stand by and watch as he moves his new girlfriend Emma Brooker into his home next week.


Viewers know that David was raped by Josh last month but has alienated everyone around him ever since – dumping Shona and shocking his family by brutally attacking Gary Windass in the boxing ring.

Thankfully, Jack, who plays David, has confirmed that Shona will eventually find out about his harrowing ordeal with Josh Tucker – and will be determined to fight for justice afterwards.

Discussing whether Josh will be punished for his crime, Jack said to Radio Times: At the moment, David’s actions are letting Josh remain free, but you’ll have to wait and see whether the law will.


“David has left it so long to say something that this might have an impact on whether a prosecution is possible. Plus he got rid of the clothes he was wearing.


“What I can say is that the story does continue right through the summer and we will show the effects on both David and those around him once they do find out. Shona will be particularly determined to get justice.”


Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
